In
late 2005, I attended a MacDesign conference, geared toward Macintosh
users in the design field. This show included a competition for
attendees who wanted to create their own Apple commercial. I thought it
would be great to do a parody of the Vonage "people do stupid things"
ad campaign and make using Windows a "stupid thing." Luckily we had a
sequence of my pal Dale destroying a PC shot for Mandatory Overtime,
so I had exactly what I needed. I came quite close to winning with
this, right down to an applause vote that came out in a draw. In the
end, the sponsors of the conference picked the other video, which
showed an Amish woman in a horse-drawn carriage using an Apple laptop. |
